Children aged 5 and over are permitted to climb at Mad Volume.
If your child is under 12 and hasn't climbed before, we'd recommend taking them to a dedicated children's climbing centre for their first climbing experience, Rock Up in St Stephen's Hull, is a good example of this kind of centre. If they've been to a children's climbing centre and enjoyed it, it's definitely worth coming down to Mad Volume once they have the confidence to make the most out of their visit.
Children aged 5 to 13 must have their waiver form signed by a parent or guardian and must be supervised by an adult who is a competent climber. We insist on a ratio of 1 adult supervising up to 2 children.
Children aged 14 or 15 can climb without adult supervision if they take a special induction course and are assessed by Mad Volume staff. This induction is more thorough than our regular adult induction; it's instructor led, takes 1 hour and costs £30 for up to 2 children. Please ask our staff for details on times and booking.
Children aged 16 or 17 can climb without adult supervision if their waiver form is signed by a parent. We insist they take an extended induction as well, unless they are competant climbers, but parents are not required to be present.
Under 18 unsupervised climbing is at the discretion of Mad Volume staff.

If you're interested in having a birthday party or team building event at Mad Volume, please talk to a member of staff. We do bespoke packages and can even arrange something outside our regular opening hours, guaranteeing your group exclusive use of the whole gym.
Location
Mad Volume is based at The Worx (The Old Hull Daily Mail Building) on the corner of Spring Bank & Beverley Road, just a few minutes from St Stephen's Shopping Centre and both the Bus and Train Station. We have off street parking available.
